Associate Scientist, Translational Science

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Associate Scientist to join the Translational Sciences group. This individual will be responsible for supporting and conducting in vivo preclinical mouse studies and biological sample/ex vivo analyses to support our protein-based immunotherapeutics platform.  The successful candidate must have hands-on experience with mice and experience with assays required for biologic therapeutics development.  Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills, are essential.  Flexibility and adaptability are also necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supporting, organizing, and running mouse models of autoimmunity, cancer, and pharmacokinetics to evaluate in vivo activity of our therapeutic molecules
  • Data entry, analysis, and graphical presentation of study data
  • Perform sample analysis (e.g. ELISA; Luminex) to support the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic understanding and development of our molecules
  • Communicate unambiguous data or relevant project information to various groups including project teams, as needed
  • Maintain a clear, detailed laboratory notebook to document all experiments and findings

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • B.S. or above in Bioanalytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or relevant field. Biopharma industry experience preferred.
  • Expertise with in vivo administration of therapeutics to mice through different routes (including intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, and intravenous) and skills needed for various endpoint assessments (blood collection, disease scoring, tumor measurements, necropsy, etc)
  • Experience with conducting mouse models of autoimmunity, cancer, and pharmacokinetics
  • Ability to summarize data in MS PowerPoint slides and prepare study reports, and to present data at project team meetings and other forums when required
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal guidelines concerning the use of animals in research
  • Experience in analyzing biological samples using ELISA and Luminex methods, including an understanding of general assay needs for biologic therapeutics
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and assay development using multiple platforms is required
  • Strong problem solver who is highly organized with the ability to thrive in an environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Excellent oral and written communication capabilities
  • Highly proficient with MS Word and PowerPoint and data analysis software (e.g. MS Excel, SoftMax Pro, GraphPad Prism)
